Hickling Infant School 2018/19

Helping Others... On Friday we dressed up in pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need . We had a nice day full of fun and smiles and even did PE in our PJ's!! We all entered the cake raffle and a raffle to win a Pudsey bear . The money donated was added to the pre-school and we raised a grand total of £42.80! A BIG total for a small school.  A big thank you to everybody who donated money to a great and special cause.

Remembrance Day 2018... This year we had a special learning cafe to commemorate 100 years since World War 1 ended. We invited in our families and shared our learning and experiences. A big thank you to everyone that was able to attend. We love learning time together as a family!  On Sunday we attended the church in Hickling and some of our children took part in a special service. We were extremely proud of how confident and competent the children were at reading special remembrance prayers and poems. Art club's 100 poppies , making the number 100, could be seen displayed at the back of the church for everyone to see during the service.  We got many wonderful comments from members of our community about our art work and children. How proud I am to be the teacher of such a wonderful, caring school! 

Local Area Learning... Yesterday morning we were really lucky to have Louise from the Treasure Box come into school and teach us about the potato harvest! She is a 'expert' and we were really grateful to have the opportunity to harvest our own potatoes !!  A big thank you to Stuart Ellis for allowing us to pick his potatoes! 

Forest School Federation Fun! Today the Year 1 and 2 children went to How Hill , just around the corner from Catfield School! We would thoroughly recommend a visit if you have a spare weekend and the best thing... it's FREE!  We enjoyed spending time with children from Catfield and Sutton, exploring the outside environment and being at one with nature . Today the Reception and Pre-school children went across to Sutton Infant School for a Bonfire/Autumn Federation Day.  They made fruit rockets, bonfire pictures and learnt about an Autumn story called Leaf Man - then created their own outside!  Everyon...
