Hickling Infant School 2018/19

Making people smile... On Friday we went to Hickling House to sing Christmas songs to the older people! We made them smile and in return got hot chocolate and biscuits!! We also looked at our Christmas pictures we drew for a competition. The winners were Tommy, Thomas and Grace! 

Sharing Together... Today we had our Christmas Lunch! We had special visitors come and share our Christmas Dinner with us and the teachers served us at the tables! We enjoyed crackers and made special party hats and name places for everyone.  We hope you enjoy the photos below...

Things are really cool in Nazareth... Today we had our school Nativity which we held annually in the church. Today we performed a play that Miss Turner and Mrs Elliott wrote and produced!   The children performed incredibly with beautiful singing and clear speaking . They remembered where they had to be and did all the actions. All of the teachers are proud beyond words!

Marking the start of Advent... To mark the start of Advent we held a Christingle Service in school. We invited Mrs Elliott from the Chapel in the village. She talked about the meaning of the event , we held our own Christingles that we had made in RE and lit them.  We then had four Y ear 2 children read parts from the bible , we sang a Christingle song and Mrs Elliott finished with a prayer.   It was a special moment we all shared together in the light of the candles. 

Christmas has come to Hickling!  We invited our families in to share the start of Christmas with us and decorate our new tree!  We also made Christmas decorations and enjoyed listening to some festive music!
