We were treated at the beginning of the week to a wonderful visit from Chris at the Norfolk Children's Book Centre who told us some fabulous stories and we even had time to buy some new books too for home and school. Our favourite book that Chris read was called 'The Book With No Pictures' because it made us laugh! We ended our week with a walk in the sunshine to deliver Easter cards to all those people who help us at school by hearing us read, playing the piano, delivering Collective Worship and doing arts and crafts with us. At the same time we did our second litter pick around the village and collected half a bag of plastic, wire and other litter. Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter holiday!
Our bucket has been collected. It will either be taken to Hemsby or Stalham. We will keep you posted... We also held our end of year Church service where our Year 2s were presented with their bibles. Mr Watton told us this has been a tradition in Hickling for over 200 years!
Today we had the BEST visitors...Happisburgh Owls came to see us AND we learnt so much! We met a Barn Owl called Ghost, a Tawny Owl called Bracken, a Little Owl called Munchkin, an Eagle Owl called Shanti and a Northern White-Faced Owl called Trouble. Ask us about owls vision and hearing - we are experts! We also know that owls favourite foods are mice, rats and especially voles. Our best fact of the day was that when you hear Tawny Owls, it is the girl saying 'twit' and the boy answering 'twoo.' What an AMAZING experience!
