Our beautiful bucket and spade sculpture is finished!  We think our design says a lot about Hickling Village and Norfolk...

  • tractor - our rural, farming community
  • Swallowtail butterfly - our federation name and you can see them at the Broad
  • Hickling boat - our school logo 
  • Trees - we love forest school!
  • Hickling Church - we are a church of England school
  • Beach parasol and mini bucket and spade - we are lucky to live near the coast
A HUGE thanks to Mrs Appleyard and Miss Turner who helped the children bring their designs to life. 





 We were also thrilled to have so many grown ups join us on Tuesday morning to help us create our 'sock things' for the Village Show.  They all already have personalities and some have names!  We will wait to see if anyone wins...!

Making people smile... On Friday we went to Hickling House to sing Christmas songs to the older people! We made them smile and in return got hot chocolate and biscuits!! We also looked at our Christmas pictures we drew for a competition. The winners were Tommy, Thomas and Grace!

Church and Bucket Collection!

Our bucket has been collected.  It will either be taken to Hemsby or Stalham. We will keep you posted... We also held our end of year Church service where our Year 2s were presented with their bibles.  Mr Watton told us this has been a tradition in Hickling for over 200 years!

First School Trip This Year...

Wroxham Boat Tours... Today we went on our own journey! We got on a coach to Wroxham and boarded a two story boat! We had a captain and 2 members of staff who told us information about the broads. We spotted all sorts of wildlife ...including two herons!  We went through Wroxham Broad and arrived at Hoveton Great Broad! We moored and got off to go on an amazing boardwalk nature trail. We learnt lots about our local area.  After that we got back on our boat and headed back to Wroxham via the Broad. We ate our lunch  and then sat upstairs and enjoyed the sunshine!  See what wildlife you can spot in the photos!
